The Sand story
Founded in 1981 by Søren and Lene Sand, SAND Copenhagen was born from a desire to unite the best of both worlds: the simplicity of Scandinavian design and the soul of Southern European craftsmanship.
With an eye for detail, a passion for tailoring, and a deep respect for timeless style, they built one of Denmark's most iconic fashion houses.

Crafted with care
Our design studio is nestled on the quiet shores of Lake Como, where Scandinavian simplicity meets Italian craftsmanship.

Working closely with local weavers and artisans, we create exceptional fabrics that reflect our commitment to quality, attention to detail, and the preservation of generations of expertise.

Responsibility at heart
As a family-owned company, responsibility is at the heart of everything we do. We work with long-standing, ISO-certified partners to create timeless garments that transcend seasons, while continuously reducing our environmental footprint through design and responsible production.
Fabrics you can feel
We partner with Italy's finest fabric makers—many for decades—to source luxurious textiles with exceptional softness, flow, and durability.
Produced locally in limited quantities, our fabrics reflect a commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and lasting design.

The legacy continues
From icons like Helmut Newton, Nadja Auermann and Jerry Hall to today's tastemakers including Emili Sindlev, Aloe Blacc and Darja Barannik, SAND Copenhagen has always dressed those with a distinctive sense of style.

For over four decades, our long-standing partnerships with family-owned Italian mills have brought exceptional craftsmanship to every collection—preserving tradition, supporting local communities, and shaping every garment with care.
